ENCON Mechanical
Why did you become involved in PWC NJ?
I first became involved with PWC NJ at the invitation of David Indursky, President of Encon Mechanical, who asked me to attend a luncheon honoring women in construction. I had no idea how impactful that experience would be. Listening to the incredible women share their journeys, challenges, and achievements, I was inspired and moved. Their passion and resilience showed me the power of a strong, supportive network in our industry. From that moment, I knew I wanted to be part of this community not only to learn and grow but also to surround myself with leaders who motivate and uplift others. Joining PWC NJ was a natural step for me to align with an organization that champions empowerment, collaboration, and advancement for women in construction.
Why did you decide to pursue a career in construction?
Construction has always felt like a natural path. Growing up with six brothers before my younger sister was born, our home revolved around cars, sports, and tools. My father was Head of Facilities and Maintenance at Rutgers University, where I spent summers helping on campus from a young age. My stepfather started as a welder in the industrial and commercial sector, and I often found myself alongside him after school, learning through the grit and pride of the trade.
Although I stepped away from the industry for a time, it ultimately drew me back. This work is more than a career—it is part of my family’s fabric. Many of my brothers built their livelihoods here, and it is in this space that I have experienced the most personal and professional growth. To me, construction represents resilience, opportunity, and the influence of family and community in shaping who I am today.
What advice would you give to someone looking to become involved in the construction industry?
My advice is simple: do it. The construction industry is always evolving and offers endless opportunities to learn and grow. The key is finding the right place, a company that feels like home and provides a foundation for success.
When I chose Encon, it was because of its commitment to family and its values that resonated deeply with me. Encon has given me the space to grow personally and professionally while building relationships that will last a lifetime. People often leave this industry not because they lack passion but because they do not feel they can advance or be heard. That is not the case at Encon. Here, voices matter, growth is encouraged, and careers flourish. The longevity of our team tells the story—employees who have been with us for 20, 30, even 40 years. That kind of loyalty comes from a culture built on trust, opportunity, and a genuine belief in people.
At Encon, this spirit comes directly from our president and founder, whose dedication to the industry and to people has created a place where careers grow and legacies are built. That is the kind of foundation every professional deserves.
