Why did you become involved in PWC NJ?

I joined PWC NJ to connect with other ambitious women in construction who recognize the specific challenges and opportunities we face. Working at New Jersey Natural Gas, I’ve found that PWC has helped me to strengthen ties with industries serving the same communities as NJNG. It is empowering to be part of an organization that encourages professional development and fosters meaningful relationships among accomplished women.

What is the most important skill you have developed in your career?

The most valuable skill I’ve gained is proactive communication, paired with confidence. Anticipating problems, coordinating with various stakeholders, and clearly expressing my expectations have all played a crucial role in advancing projects efficiently. Having the confidence to participate actively, voice ideas, and ask questions has strengthened my credibility in the industry, supported my professional growth, and enabled me to effectively advocate for both my projects and my customers.

What advice would you give to someone looking to become involved in the construction industry?

Jump in confidently – Don’t let being a woman hold you back. When a woman takes on a construction role, she is opening doors for others and creating opportunity. The construction industry has many career paths, and there’s room for women in all of them.
